Went to the scale
Took my rig to the scale, here are the numbers. I think I need to adjust my hitch. Please give me your input.
Truck specs
7600 GVWR
3950 GAWR FRT
4300 GAWR RR
10900 towing capacity
16700 gross combined
All weighs were done with a full tank, me in the truck, and everything loaded for a normal trip. We were on our way home from a trip when I stopped to weigh.
Weights from scale
1st weigh hitch connected
Steer axle. 3340
Drive axle. 3940
Trailer axle. 7420
Gross weight. 14700
2nd weigh trailer connected bars unhooked
Steer axle 3080
Drive axle 4320
Trailer axle. 7300
Gross weight 14700
3rd weigh truck only
Steer axle 3560
Drive axle. 2680
Gross weight. 6240
I think I need to adjust the hitch and put more on the front axle. What do yo think?

I agree. You need about another 200 lbs. added to your steer axle.
Kudos for taking the time to get er right !!

I calculate your TW to be 1260. I like to keep my TW at 12%, or in your case about 876 given that your camper weighs 7300. If you can shift some trailer weight rearward, you will reduce the TW and probably get back the 200 lbs you need on the front axle.

Shifting weight to the rear is a problem. Only storage area is in the front. We have face to face slides in the rear. Only thing I dislike about this trailer. I could use my rear rack and install a big box. Load my stuff in the box. Just extends the length of the trailer. I'll add a little to the bars next time I hook up and see how it looks.

Is the goal to get a front axle weight that is the same as the unloaded front axle weight? I know the front fender height can be used for adjustment, but when looking at scales is this what one would like to see?

Yes, restoring most of the lost front axle weight is ideal. Your TW is 1160 and trailer weight is 8460 for a TW percentage of 13.7. Your truck's owner manual should shed some light on how much weight to restore for your particular truck. Some say 50% and some say 100%.

Only do that if it a factory installed rear rack, and be careful not to exceed the rating. I would be leery of any kind of weight on an aftermarket rack.
13.7% is a decent tongue weight percentage. IHMO, a properly setup WDH system is much preferred than trying to use ballast to lessen the tongue weight.
I am a bit confued, though. Your profile lists a 304R, which is a 5th wheel, I believe ??

My bad. I looked at the model and thought I saw 5th wheel somewhere. My apologies.

The rear rack is factory. I think they are installing them on all the new Cherokee trailers, not sure. Almost every trailer on the lot had one.

Truck weighed 7400 without the bars attached and 6240 empty. Difference is 1160.

Here is a link to a program I found the other day:
Travel Trailer Weight Calculator | Safety Report
I purchased the iPhone app, Fith Wheel St. Looks like a handy app and program to advise you of safe/unsafe weight distribution. I will use when I pick-up my new TT later this month.
