Hemi

Many vehicles have hemispherical head engines. It's just that Chrysler trademarked the name in the 1960s.

Aside from the custom order aluminum block Hemis that drag racers use there is no other Hemis. Dodge/Chysler have not used real hemis since the early 70s. What is sold these days is the same ole 360 block that has been in use since the 70s-80s, with fuel injection and computers added, and a badge that says -HEMI

The OEM brake controller is smooth and functioned great! I have it on Heavy electric with the gain set to about 3 and it seems about perfect.

While no one should ever take towing lightly, the overall experience of towing with an actual capable rig was dare I say, enjoyable?
That how we feel about our 2015 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel! Even more torque than the Hemi and towing our 6000 + pound Wildwood we get 16 mpg. Love it!

As soon as it makes sense financially I plan to upgrade to a 2500.

My Ram is not my daily driver and as first time RV'ers, if we only knew how much we enjoy it, I would have started at a 3/4 or 1 ton -opens up a lot of options.

I'm currently at 12k miles and have not had one single warranty issue with my Ram. If this keeps up, Ram will definitely be on the top of my list when the time comes to upgrade.

I shopped all the big three intensely and though they are all nice/capable trucks, the bottom line value just wasn't there for me.

Found a site that has pretty much everything you'd ever want to know about Ram trucks and mopar:

Jeep, Fargo, Plymouth, and Dodge trucks

I always regarded the 426 Hemi as the true Hemi. I built and I do mean 'Built' a 426 Hemi for a man with deep pockets and a good sized Jet drive ski boat. This was back in 1983. Lots of high dollar parts plus a full balancing job. High rise intake with dual Holley carbs and a Mallory dual point distributor.
After the initial startup in the shop we took it to the lake and got it dialed in and it scared the crap out of me when he ran it up to near 90mph. Two months later he flipped it and almost killed himself and a friend. He sold it all to another guy who has it bolted to an engine stand waiting to go into a Plymouth Roadrunner.

I'm getting about 11-12 mpg towing and of course near 20 mpg unloaded.

What kind of WDH are you guys using?

I actually use an old Reese Hitch Assembly. The whole set up was originally purchased with his 1988 Sunline, He gave the set up to me when my wife and I bought our new Wildwood. Haven't found anything better to justify spending the money on to "upgrade".
