And why is that specifically?

I’m prob towing around 8500 camper weight and another 200 in the truck.

I’m east coast so no western mountains but we have smaller mountains.

If I hit a steep hill I really don’t see why slowing down to prob 50 mph and going to 3rd gear won’t get me right in the rpm band you’re in and making the same horsepower. I’ll find out at some point but we don’t have mountains on our list this season.

When towing here to the beach I was running 64 at 2500 rpm in 4th.

These are great real-world examples of how a 1/2 ton performs compared to the "know-it-all" internet weight police that base their bar stool opinions on their data set of one or two.

Safe travels

Just posting a towing update. Took our 34’ Windjammer all the way to Jacksonville Florida. 300 miles. My 150 ecoboost was flawless. 65 mph all the way except I stopped to 50 for a short time during a severe thunderstorm.

Ran great. Towed great. No swaying at all whatsoever at any point. The equalizer hitch does its job keeping all sway out and the eco goes like a wild animal.

I have a 2016 F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost and tow a Flagstaff E Pro E20FBS - hauls it with ease and the 21 ft trailer is enough for my wife and I and a dog...

I met some folks at a campground in Florida. They had a 2018 ecoboost with the full towing package, and were towing a brand new 30ft Rockwood. Around 6600 lb nominal dry weight. They were worried about towing it to the mountains.

I said, as long as you're comfortable, your trucks pulling ability is the least of your worries. It'll tow thing all day long, no sweat.
