I pull a Signature Ultra-Lite, 30’ 5th wheel. Dry: 6800. Reality, I probably pull around 7800. Mileage takes a beating, 8-10 mpg, but once I set up camp, I’m back to close to 20mpg
The OP is asking about the 5.0 engine, NOT the 3.5 Ecoboost.

2014 F150 Fx4 ecoboost

We tow a 2018 Cherokee 304R with ours. It is 35 ft at 7100 lbs dry weight. What a difference the EcoBoost makes pulling through the mountains. We previously had another F150 with the 5.4 motor.
The Cherokee pulls and handles very well as long as you do not overload the bed of the truck.

The 5.0 should perform as well under the same conditions, developing its peak torque at a higher rpm than the ecoboost.

F150

I have the same 2016 F150... we have a 24’ Cherokee Grey Wolf toy hauler. With my 2018 HD in the back, it seems to do pretty well. It’s not designed to win a race, but pulls rather well for the engine size. I will say it does only get about 10 Mpg..... but, other than that I really don’t have any complaints. Make sure you hit the tow haul selector swith as well!!!

Sounds great guys, seems some people pull campers over 30' which seem long but I guess the right hitch is the trick. I'll be towing 90% flat in Florida. If I bought my truck again I would have gotten the 3.5TT with the HDPP but I was dead set on getting the 5.0 as I figured they're a longer lasting/less problematic engine. Not saying the 3.5 is no good and from what I've read the newer ones are doing really well. I almost traded my F150 on a F250 a week ago but some of the campers people are towing with a similar truck seem to be ok. Thanks again for the input.

Always remember...

Just because somebody else is "doing it with no problems"...

Doesn't mean it is the right thing to do.

Pulled a Forest River 7100lb, with F250.5.2 with 410 rear end. could not make it up 6% grade on I40. traded it in on 1 ton 6.7 diesel no problem. Get 13.8 to gallon and no worries mate.

See the signature. Truth be told, the next truck will likely be an F250.
