What did you do to your tow vehicle today?

(And this thing will be for the eventual fiver my wife keeps talking about.) I'm probably going to do some comparison videos of towing our TT setup with the slightly overloaded 1500 and then with the 30000#+ rated 3500 to give a real-world look at any significant differences.

His 2WD? I scaled mine and it weighs 8650#, so that gives me a CCC of 5350#. Should be good for about anything DW can come up with. 😊

Head gaskets, thermostats, both front hubs, rear shocks, tie rod ends, and probably some stuff I'm forgetting about. Still cheaper than buying a new truck!

His is 4x4. I think it’s a 2015 or 2016.

Finished the first round of farkles. Husky liner floor mats, front and rear mud flaps, hood protector, and Ranch Hand triple side steps. Then I reset the WDH on a new 10" drop shank, hooked the trailer up and took it for its first tow. I'm very pleased so far.

New brake pads and rotors on all 4 corners. At 150k miles, think I got my $$ worth.

A new o2 sensor (bank 2 sensor 1), new air filter, and new iridium plugs.

Last week, had spray-on bedliner installed from Scorpion Coatings. I took of the plastic grommets from only the corners before the sprayed, so I can hook in bungees, ratcheting straps or install those cleats used as tie down points.

The shop did a great job masking everything up, and they removed and sprayed separately the tailgate cover that gives you access to the handle.

They also took their time and scuffed and sanded all of the painted surfaces that they sprayed. Although all shops should do this, I have noticed a lot of them don't or the don't do it well. Look at someone's peeling bedliner, usually the paint is still smooth underneath.

The same shop installed Llumar Ceramic tint 30% on the side and back windows with an eyebrow on the windshield. It has a nice charcoal color, with no blue hue on the outside that some ceramic films have.

I got what I though was a great price on both.

I got sideswiped. The state cop said it didn’t meet reportable criteria ($1,500 in Virginia). It was raining....

Here’s the video. Thank God I had a dash cam.

Cop is obviously not an insurance adjuster. That looks like >$1500 to me.

A lot of departments around here do not do an accident report UNLESS there are injuries regardless of amount of damage. They provide you a website and it's self reported.

I offered the cop the opportunity to view the video, but he wasn't interested. And it's my fault that I didn't mention the kid trying to run. He claimed he was "in shock" after having hit me.

Gave it its first real pull. 250 miles to Lake Chicot in southern Arkansas. Big wind was barely noticeable. Averaged 11.4mpg loaded for 9 days away. Last trip with the 1500 on this route was about 8.5 mpg.

His attorney would argue that he was just trying to find the safest point to pull over. [emoji19]

He claimed he was “in shock” from hitting me. He admitted being at fault, both to the cop and his insurance (Progressive). They’ve already given me their initial estimate and a check, and they’re sending someone to the repair facility on Tuesday after I drop it on Monday. Their estimate was higher than what the shop quoted me, so I’m good with it.

The only down side is I didn’t get to meet Flo.
