Went to scale today, loaded for trip.
Weight with w/d bars on
Steer; 3900
Drive:5320
Trailer :7980
Gross: 17200

No weight bars
Steer: 3620
Drive: 5720
Trailer:7860
Gross : 17200

Just truck
Steer: 4240
Drive: 3580
Gross 7820
I think I'm over on tounge weight. Truck is a 2012 f250 gas. Hitch is equalizer 14000, 1400. What do you all think

Regardless of TW you need to move more weight to the front axle.

As I read your truck your front axle is rated for 3750 pounds and the rear axle for 4800 pounds. Per your weight ticket the truck is carrying 3900 pounds and the rear is carrying 5320 pounds. So your front axle is carrying 150 pounds more than its rating. The rear axle is carrying 510 pounds more than its rating. Your weight on the rear axle with no WDH is way over the capacity of the rear axle by 920 pounds. So no change to the WDH will be able to correct this.

Using the right numbers it does seem like the tong is very heavy for a TT. With no bars you have 1520 # of weight on the truck and with the bars you have 1400 # of weight on the truck. But a TT normally places about 10% of its weight on the tong in your case that would be 786# but you have almost twice that weight. Your truck is fine with this weight, your hitch if only 1400# is right at or just above its tong capacity. I would try moving some heavy items to behind the TT wheels if I could to lessen the tong weight.

And that will effectively move some weight back to the front axle.

I forgot, I had a half tank of fresh water also. This is a toy hauler and without bikes in the back is tounge heavy. We're heading to Colorado for two weeks without much in the toy hauler part. I need to figure out what to put back there...

I think a couple of KTM's along with gear and tools should solve your problem nicely.

I agree that you should adjust your hitch to transfer more weight to the front axle. On your hitch you do that by changing the head angle which is done by increasing the number of washers. The max number is 8 so you can figure how much further you can take it. I'd recommend taking tools to a truck stop with scales, then reweigh after making an adjustment. Reweighs are cheap when you do them on the same day. Don't listen to those who claim you can dial it in by measuring at the fenders. This is s rough guide only and no substitute for accurate weights.
