A three year old F350 Lariat Diesel NADA retail is 46,350 and trade in average condition is 40,450 and rough condition trade in at 38,625. Nice to know that RAM would have to write me a check to drive off a brand new RAM, that would be a different experience - them writing me a check instead of me writing them one. Since I trade every 36 months I will keep that in mind when I start shopping for my new truck.

Lol!!
I just ran nada on used 1 ton, diesel, dual wheel, 4wd 2015s (i used all the same options and 5200 miles on all) and ford platinum, king ranch, chevy high country, gmc denali and gmc slt, and they all were worth about $5-8k more than a similarly equipped (again all the same options and mileage) ram longhorn.

Interesting, I'd never ran the numbers before on all of them, just had seen in the past that ram didn't hold its price as well as the others, but if initial price is so low, i guess it wont. But i know some people probably pay just as much or more for them. I'd say run the used numbers on them and compare to your purchase prices of all of them and see what your value difference would be.

My 14 grand cherokee srt 6.4 doesnt slow and will accelerate hard up hill at any speed.
The jeep weights 5150 and considerably less distance from hitch to rear axle on the jeep.
We tow with the 2500 and just go slow. The truck can hold the hills with rpm but I am not high reving(rpms) the truck as it won't last like that.
my 03 6.0 doesn't slow up hills when not towing a 9000 lbs trailer and 4300 rpms is not high revving when i am towing . it's not like your running like that all day just 20 mins up a pass . Chevy built to last and handle the load

I agree, being able to trade a 3 year old F350 diesel SRW for brand new Ram 3500 Diesel DRW would be attractive traded and the dealer would have to write you a check would put it over the top. I was wanting a 2017 F350 Ford but I guess I will have to put the Ram back on this list.

Thats one reason why i bought my Gmc Denali duramax new. I could find 2-3 year duramax denali's or chevy ltz's with 50k or so miles and they were only about $5-8k less than i bought mine new. I figued the extra miles and years were worth it and my roi should be really good if i sell mine in 3 years or so.
Plus its considered a business expense (like yours probably is too) so depreciation helps with it all too!

Ok maybe not 6000 since that's red line but I could see it before it shifts up. Max HP of 385 is at 5500 and Max Torque of 405 is at 4500. So I'm probably looking at 4500-5500 cruising up that grade at 45-50. And that speed is just fine with me.

It just a numbers game. Like the Diesel engine option. - my diesel option MSRP was 8480.00 and after discounts I got on the truck I paid about 7200.00 for the diesel option. Three year old truck the diesel option adds 8250.00 over the price of gas engine according to NADA.

The comparible Laramie limited was 71,500-75k. My truck listed for 66,550. I think I got the better deal.

I could have gotten a work truck for a lot cheaper but this is my daily and we use it to travel in so I like all the goodies.
