My 05 silverado gasser had an hour meter.
So does my 08 duramax.

The hours counter is available in the display. It shows total hours, hours idling, etc. I've only looked at it once. At 60 mph, 500 hours = 30K miles. We don't always drive 60... so I'd bet that 500 hours and 15K miles would probably closely coincide, unless one has unusual driving requirements.

I'll look at it tonight when I get off work. The truck has about 19,300 miles driven right now. It will be interesting to see what the hours meter is up to.

I am going in for my second oil change,4300KM (26875 miles) most of this has been towing, wondering why these wonderful machines that are controlled by an on board computer that does a wonderful job, but, according to some does not have the technology to calculate how it has been driven and how far it can go till it needs maintenance, it does know when it is towing and not towing so why not believe that what you paid a pretty penny for is telling you the truth because it has all been well research for you by the manufacturers.

My 2013 Duramax tells me when I need any and everything. It also has an hr meter. I'm changing oil/filter about every 10,000 miles per dash instructions.

Not to say that your particular vehicle tech isn't good, but technology never wins in a company when the almighty dollar is involved. Ask Home Depot's IT department what they said for YEARS. "We sell hammers". They didn't care until it was too late and is now costing them that pretty penny.

Does it tell you rear diff is also low 1 qt right from the factory? I bet most GM 11.5 axle owners don't know this.

For me it was the 10K price increase and "knowing" that for what I was towing and doing with it, wasn't worth that much so I went with the gas.

OK..... I got a look at the hours in my truck. It shows 44 hours at idle, and 458 driving for a total of 502. With 19,300 on the odometer, there it is.

Nice, can't have clean enough oil. I will do 2 more in the next 4 weeks. 1 before our 2000 mile round camping trip and another right after we get home 9 days apart.

New at all this. Does the torque come from the turbo?

Tq comes from the extra push on the down stroke from the slow burning fuel in the combustion chamber. As it is burning all the way down and not a explosion like in a gas engine

No seeing that there is two fuel filters, I am guessing they can be easily changed by us shady tree mechanics in the driveway?
