One thing to be aware of with 4wd is that depending on the transfer case, the movement of the front or rear axle (whichever is down) is not sufficient to circulate lube to the internals. Be sure to check with the manufacturer.

I bought a short car trailer and can tow any vehicle I own. Plus side, I can back up. Minus is length. Haven't found a CG pull through that I did not fit in 5 years so far. Only drop trailer at International Rally.

Currently using Tow Master dolly with electric brakes. Have hauled the 1987 Chrysler LaBaron Convertible, 2002 Chevy Silverado pick-up and currently a 2016 Ford C-Max Energi on it. Went with the wide HD model for this reason.

Working on setting the C-Max up for 4 down towing. Just have to get the base plate and get it installed and vehicle wired up. Coach is at Coachmen right now along with the dolly. Hope to get back soon and get the work done before the trip to FL.

Tow dollies don't require the additional braking system you need when flat towing. What kind of braking system do you use in your Jeep?

I tow a kia soul with an ezee tow dolly. Dolly is small, lightweight, and rolls under the back of my coach out of the way. I store it in the garage at home by lifting the tongue and standing the dolly against the wall. Did 8000 miles last summer no problems other than a dolly flat. Quick change on the road and continued on my journey. The Soul is small but lots of room inside, seats fold down for storage, 10 year warranty and reasonably priced.
