My love my 1500 Silverado 6.2 L with the max tow package. I did not want a diesel so bought the largest gasser GM makes. It will pass anything but a gas station. I hate trying to pull into a gas station to normally the one diesel pump they have and wait for the cars in the way to move. I would like to add a aux fuel tank someday since I only have about a 200 mile range on a full tank pulling the TT.

I purchased my F250 gasser a few years back for hauling cattle 2-3 times per year plus the normal haul of dirt or compost. It is perfect for that duty. I purchased a 2015 Rockwood Ultra Lite 8289WS 5er (8300 dry wt) this week. I am wishing I had coughed up the money for the diesel now. I haven't been over the mountains yet and it does feel the weight going up a steep hill. Pulls fine so far though and once I am up to speed, she keeps 60-65 pretty easy, although it kicks up to some pretty high rpm's when it downshifts on a steep hill. I am not worried about getting over the mountains really but I may be going pretty slow to keep the rpm's below 3500. But like I said, right about now that Power Stroke would be nice.

I am averaging right at 9mpg in the small amount of towing I've done so far.

This F350 is perfect for me. Pulls the Work & Play like a champ and now that this camper is for sale, it will pull the 5er we plan to get.

I have a 32

I have a 32' Wolf Pack toy hauler. it's dry weight is 11,950, and loaded it comes in at around 17,500 I was towing it with a Chevy 3500 daully, it had a 12,000 GVW, and a CGVW 16,500. I, was having brake problems. So I traded it in on a 2012 Chevy 3500HD daully which has a lot more hauling capacity. I get better mileage and more pulling power, and better stopping power. With the engine brake it will hold the cruise control to within 5 mph on down hill decents, and pulls the mountains like they are not there. It was a great upgrade.

Why would you limit your vehicle to an RPM under its peak power???? It's naturally aspirated, let it eat like it's designed to.

Yamaha EF3000ISE. Love it. 2800W continuous output, 3000 boost. Runs everything we need including a single air conditioner . Gives you 23amps continuous output. Love the quietness (55-60DBL) I wouldn't buy anything else other than a Honda. It's tge old get what you oay for story.
