We pull a 2015 Saber Silhouette 322 BHTS weighing 11,000 loaded with a 2015 ram 2500 6.4 hemi.
The truck handles the load flawlessly. 11,000 pounds is towards the top of what this truck is rated for, but it still actually pulls it fairly well. Runnning at 61-62 usually and getting 8 mpg.

2014 2500HD with the Duramax/Allison combo. Deleted and tuned with no china bombs on the fiver. 12K loaded.
Pros-everything! She tows at 70-72 getting 11-12 mpg with absolute ease.
Cons-If I had to nit pick, maybe that the 4wd makes the truck sit higher so I had to adjust the trailer to tow level. But..... 4wd comes in handy so I would still have it.

Wow, I didnt know they put that small of tank on the D maxs back then. I have a 38 gallon. I'd really love an additional transfer tank but having a wife and a 9y/o daughter prevent the need for that anyways with the bathroom breaks.... LOL

bagged123, I think you're trying to throw us off your trail. Here you list a 6L engine, your signature says 6.2L and the following post says 6.3L. I assume it's a 6.2L since that was available in a 2014 1500. Am I right?

Just because we can produce accounts of happy customers doesn't negate the fact that it was a seriously flawed design that caused thousands upon thousands of people some serious problems. This is the same logic smokers use- they find the 90 year old like George Burns that smokes and say, "See, smoking is good for you!", even though volumes of evidence say otherwise.

I had an 07 and in late 05 they went thru the 6.0 and make over 100 changes to it. They were better for sure but the EGR system still was the acilles heal. Delete that or bullerproof it and do head studs and you got a solid TV. Mine made ass loads of power and in the end, it was the EGR that casued me issues but that happened at 104K miles. When I saw the signs, I traded it. I had checked on a bulletproof and it was 1800-2000 so I figured it was tie for a new TV. I did love it though and it sounded amazing with a 4 inch turbo back exhaust!

They changed to the 38 gallon tank in 2011 when the LML was introduced. I don't know if you ever get on Duramax Forum at all, but a few guys on there had the same issue as you with the truck sitting too high. All of them fixed it with drop shackles for the rear suspension.

It could be worse... could have a 34 gallon tank and only getting 7-8 mpg like I do... still having to stop every 3-4 hours...
gasser problems...

My last truck was a gasser with a 26 gallon tank. And I got 7 mpg towing.

I put on a slightly taller tire for the trailer (when I took off the bombs) and run slightly less air in the bags and the truck rools out nice and straight.

We tow our new Grey Wolf 26DBH with a 2014 Ram 1500 Outdoorsman 4x4 Crew Cab with a 3.92 rear end. It tows like a dream. I average between 8 and 11 MPG depending on wind and terrain, and it tows at 65 MPH at a comfortable 2000-2500 RPM depending whether its in 7th or 8th gear. Those are about the same numbers I was getting with our old 23 foot Crossover that weighed 2000+ lbs less.

2001 F250 7.3l Superduty w/ 85k miles. Only downside I can tell is it is a bit noisier than the newer trucks.

2000 F-250 crew cab 4x4 7.3 PSD pulling a 2015 hemisphere 356 QBQ. Pulls it pretty good but don't know the fuel mileage towing yet as we have only had one trip since bought the our 5er. The only problem I have had is getting the brakes controller adjusted right. I am either locking the trailer up or struggling to get it stopped. Thinking of changing the controller and trying again.

Pros: Tows our WildCat with no complaints, low mileage on odometer,
not too bad for towing mileage, Reliable.
cons: wife complains that it is noisy when it is cold, but better when warm.
~ Love It ! ~
