First time RV'ers
Settled on a 2016 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost, Max Tow Package, 3.55 Diff.
The new trailer is a 2016 Forest River Flagstaff 831BHWSS. The GVW for the Trailer is 9115. We've only had the trailer for 2 weeks so I've yet to run it over the scale to see what the actual weights are. Based on ALL my research, ( and 2 camping trips already) the EcoBoost can more than handle towing the trailer. Towing is a bit more work with a F-150 but I like the MPG I get when not towing...
I tow with an Equalizer 4 Point WD Sway control 10K hitch. This helps considerably with the sway. However, I still get some movement in High winds and can feel ever car/truck approaching from behind. For the most part, I can easily pull the trailer @ 65 mph with little effort by the truck.
I would like to hear if anyone else is pulling as much weight as I am with the Eco and what their experience is...

Tacoma Power!
Picked this up in Maine on the 21st.
Pulls like a dream! Did not experience any sway at 60 mph.
On a fairly steep grade 60 mph at about 2300 rpms.
She wasn't sipping fuel I must add.

Well I HAD a 2010 F150 Lariat, 3.55's, 4wd, full load truck with a 5.4L. My issue was suspension and payload limitations. 2013 HG 272BH, @ 7000# dry. Truck had all kinds of power and brakes, just wasn't stiff enough for me. Went to a Ram CTD 2500. Doubled the payload. Fuel mileage isnt that much different really.
I think the Ecobust will be ok. Out of curiosity, what is the payload limit? (from the yellow sticker inside the door).

Thanks for your reply,
The payload for my 2016 EcoBoost is 1872. Considering a 900lb tongue weight, which should be several hundred pounds heavy, gives me roughly 1000lbs for additional weight.
I will finally get to weigh everything tomorrow in preparation for our next trip.

The best thing I have done for towing was switching to the ProPride 3P hitch set up. This changes everything, towing is a breeze now.
