They do have a lot of get up and go. My older 5.4L Lariat Screw I gave my son when I bought this one was quite doggy by comparison. We are towing about 9200 lbs in with the 312BHDS loaded and it pulls like a dream. You know it's on there but it has no trouble in acceleration or braking and we live in the foothills of the Ozarks. I do have the 3.73 rear-end w/ locking differential. Absolutely no sway or wagging. It tracks like an arrow (once it was properly adjusted).

3/4 ton RAM w 6.7 diesel.

I just like the idea of having a TV that weighs as much as my TT. Helps avoid the tail wagging the dog problem.
We pass through the mountains often on our trips and having the diesel grunt plus braking is wonderful... if you can afford it.

Happy Camping

I set out hoping to get the Ecoboost, 6.5 bed with HD payload. Problem is I had a limited # of trucks. Looking specifically at new 2015s in 2016. I wish now knowing Ford is going to discontinue the 5.0 in favor of the V6 I would have gotten it. However a good friend who is a Ford GM says to hold out a diesel half ton is coming.

hopefully soon an F350 is on our cards, just wasn't in the 5 year plan with retirement about 6 years away. I may try for a used in the 2010-2013 area in two years.

Probably a bit more truck than needed for now, but we are trading for a FW in 2017. First TV was a 2013 GMC 1500 5.3, second is 2015 3500HD Duramax, Dually, CC, 8' bed.

That's a nice rig. My old work truck was a 2007 GMC, Towed well for what it was. New tech is amazing. Back in 05 I worked for a Ford dealership for a short stint. Half tons are pulling nearly as much as diesels now! (not safely, nor do I recommend haha)

2016 Chevy 2500 4x4 with the dmax. Just went from California to Virginia with my Stealth 2515 loaded with my kids stuff (grad school), and my motorcycle. About 9200 lbs. Did not phase the truck.

Here it is with the ATV's and kayaks loaded and ready to go.

I tow a 2016 sandpiper371rebh tow with a 2006 f350 powerstroke crew cab dually equipped with the tow boss package which is overkill as the truck is rated to tow just over 18 000 #. Even for its age pulls well up and down the hills etc

2011 F250 only things I have done in 4 years are Toyo Open Country ATII tires, JL Audio speakers front and rear with a new Pioneer sub, an SCT tuner with 5 Star tunes and Tuff Country Add A Leaf springs out back and Monroe Sensatrack shocks all around as I cannot be bothered fiddling around with air bags. It pulls our V-Lite just fine and pretty soon it will be all mine. I will not change to a trailer that this truck cannot pull as I am not ever going back to truck payments again after this one is paid for. I get 9 to 10 mpg pulling with the 87 tow tune in it and that is fine by me.

Great to see another 312BHDS FE LE. There aren't too many of them. I'll take the bait - bulletproofing?

Did you have many new bugs to have the dealer fix like we did? They did a great job but we had quite a few including the left rear slide seal replacement. Luckily, our dealer is good and only a few minutes away. Ours stayed back at the dealers for quite a while when we first bought it in April. We bought it as a new previous years 2016. We now have nine trips on it.

Nothing yet

We haven't had to bring it back yet. Never caught a slice that was in the awning, tried to get it replaced under warranty but no luck. I am going to use the awning tape. Oh well. Other then that it's been good. I had to fix the sliding door to the rear bunk room, wasn't installed correctly at the factory. Only took an hour to make it right. The amount of space is crazy.
