Now, the cons........ the uneducated comments when they find out you're doing all this in a Ford 6.0 diesel!

First time I've ever heard someone call the 6.0PSD "dependable". Unless it's been "bulletproofed" to the tune of several thousand dollars like someone else mentioned. Glad you've had good luck with your 6.0, but you are definitely in the minority there and those that claim otherwise are anything but "uneducated". Sort of like saying "those uneducated people that say the Earth isn't flat."

Our 2008 5.7 Tundra Limited has been doing a great job for the last 7 + years. Close to 80K on the clock, I think she will do another 80K real easy. Our trips total roughly 6K - 7K a year. A good match for our Rockwood.

I have had no problems with my 6.0 and it could pull a house. Not all 6.0 where bad. I take good care and do the maintenance on it. Have 133,000 miles on it just took it in to have maintenance on it. It cost me over 500.00 bucks but when put on the computer which cost me 99.00 bucks it went through the whole engine. I sat and watched it on the screen. Everything came back in speck. Thank god....

If you're running into multiple people everywhere you go that are aware of the massive issues the vast majority of 6.0's had, it should tell you something! Where's the "in denial" emoticon???? Once again, glad you've had good luck with yours, but to pretend the problems that plagued the 6.0 are a hoax is quite a stretch. This is coming from a Ford fan that owned a 7.3PSD and a 6.7PSD. But NOT a 6.0PSD because of the multitude of friends and family I had that ALL had problems with them.

I have heard that the 05-06 models weren't as bad as the 03-04, but can't confirm that. I think a different EGR tube was used that mitigated some of the issues with that system. But, you do realize that if 50% of the trucks had a catastrophic failure within, say, 50,000 miles, there would be thousands upon thousands of people with your testimony, right? Just because we can produce accounts of happy customers doesn't negate the fact that it was a seriously flawed design that caused thousands upon thousands of people some serious problems. This is the same logic smokers use- they find the 90 year old like George Burns that smokes and say, "See, smoking is good for you!", even though volumes of evidence say otherwise.

I'm pulling my Roo 233s with a 2014 F150 Supercrew cab. Pulls our TT very well, even in the mountains out here in CA. I'm still scared of going through the grapevine though! It has about 1750 lbs payload, 3.73 gears and max tow package.

No reason to be scared of the grapevine with that set up.

I pull my 32' heritage glen with a 2012 F250 diesel. This truck is a dream to drive and pulling up hills you can drive about as fast as is safe. Mpg at 65 mph is 12.3 on a straight road. Drops to 9.5 when pulling grades at 65 mph. I spent extra and got the King Ranch, air/heated seats are worth it on long drives. I plan on retiring next year and crisis crossing continent for. Few years.
The heritage glen is very comfortable and fairly well made, though I have had some issues. Typical factory warranty is crappy, wouldn't count on it. More on that is anyone would like to hear

2008 tundra 5.7L.
Pros... great ride. Quality build. Plenty of power and torque for my needs. Resale value. Paid for.
Cons, gas tank too small. Bed sides too high. Remote unlock access to close.

Me, neither...mine gets closer to 10 than 15!! (Varies on how many mountains I'm driving up/down!!!!)

Pros with the Tundra

-Plenty of power and torque and the HD brakes are awesome.
-The back seat is huge so bringing 3 people with us is easy.
-My factory cover on the back is about 99% waterproof so we can store just about anything in there. (It's also lockable and only a few screws to loosen to remove it.)
-The back-up camera means I can go pick up the trailer alone since I don't need a spotter to line up to the hitch.
-Very comfortable ride and the tow mirrors work great.

Cons with the Tundra

-Gas tank is only 25 gallons (But we stop a lot when traveling so not a huge issue...probably will add a few gas cans if we do longer traveling.)
-Not a cheap truck (almost $50K new but I got mine for $38K since it was about a year old but still has factory warranty)
