We just upgrade to Equalizer 1400 for our new camper from Reese friction sway and WD 1000 lb(?) bars .

After three hours driving with the Reese I was beaten up and pushed around by motor cycles passing us. I never could have let my wife drive with that happening.

The Equalize was recommended by the dealer over the cam style. Now we track well with the exception of the occsional big rig and gusty wind. My wife drives with no ill effects.

Go for the Equalizer if you still have the opportunity.

You will be extremely happy with the Dual Cam! I use it and I have no sway at all.

Thank you all for your replys!

I think I am sold on the equal-i-zer, as it does seem to be a simple design and should be easy to install when I pick up the trailer. It looks to me that I would be drilling holes for the dual cam type, and I won't have my garage full of tools with me.

I think I am also sold on the Prodigy brake controller. Does anyone know where to find the factory connection for the plug in harness on 2000 GMC? I would like to find this before purchace so I know what I am up against. Also any tips on install would be appreciated.

Thanks again...Vince

I went with the Prodigy P3 and love it. It un-plugs from the rear and is not hard wired. I take it out and swap with both the Suburban and Avalanche depending on which TV we are gonna use. I bought the second harness at local RV Supply for like $13.50. I'm fairly confident you will need the 'pre-2003' version that has a brown connection. Harness will simply plug directly into your brain near the parking brake. Have fun...easy install !!
