Wheel bearings

Does anyone know if the tire pressure/temperature monitors would possibly monitor the wheel bearing temp IF the hub/wheel assy transferred temp. fast enough? Sure would be nice. Don't have any experience as to how fast a bearing starts to heat for whatever malfunction. I guess it is just wishful thinking the hub/wheel assy would transfer the heat fast enough to be able to stop before major damage to the spindle &/or hub.

I dont think they would transfer enough heat to be able to tell . And if the wheel bearing did fail I don't think it would transfer to to tpms fast enough to warn you .

I've been wondering the same thing. It seems to me that some heat would have to be transferred. Question is, how quickly to bearings go, how hot do they have to get before it is a real problem, . . I think that there is a chance you could prevent a big breakdown if you watch your temps and know what your normal range is.
