Just did the same front hitch for my 2012 F-250. After reading horror stories of bumpers falling off tt and over $1,000 being paid for bike racks over the propane tanks. I decided on a front hitch with 4 place bike rack all under $225 and easy install.
Could not be happier! Now just waiting for our new trailer to arrive.

I got no problems cutting a hole in the fascia. That hangs down ridiculously far anyhow. Don't want anything lower than that.

I came up with this idea the other day. Pretty cheap and took about an hour to build. Definatly not as fancy but the bikes are solid and held to the bulkhead with a 5/16 u bolt. Click image for larger version

I went with this setup. It leaves plenty of room in bed and can load 4-5 bikes in about 2 minutes.

Also excellent for canoe front support.

I know that obviously wouldn't work with my Revolution/Sidewinder setup, but I'm still intrigued whether you run into any issues with clearance between the bikes/rack and the truck cab ?

I'm guessing that since the bikes are shorter than the 5er is wide, and I'm guessing most of the setup is above the bed rails, it all worked out ok.
Do you have an 8ft bed ?

You're right, the Revolution/Sidewinder are a non-starter with this setup.

And never have had clearance issues; though I do have an 8' bed. I have a good bit of room between the truck and cab, though.

As you can see, there's a good bit of space when pulling forward:

Bike Rack

Sorry, but I really don't see the full picture to understand the bike rack. All I see is under the vehicle.

The actual bike rack would be your typical 4 bike rack that goes into the hitch on the back of your vehicle. Nothing special about the rack. The OP just had a front hitch mounted to avoid hanging the rack off the back of their trailer.

Sorry to hijack this...Can I ask why not just put them on the back of the 5er? Either on the ladder or mount a hitch back there and use the regular hitch bike rack?

Because all 5th wheel frames aren't created a like, especially ultralight ones like the OP 5ver.
Nor are the ladders all the same and how much they can carry.
