Wheres my trailer ?

I have a 2007 Chevy 1500 I Installed a 47294 Hopkins controller and a 47795 adapter but the controller does not recognize that a trailer is hooked up I can manually energize the controller and the brakes work when I probe the blue wire connection under the dash with a circuit tester the light comes on showing that a trailer is hooked up what's wrong here ?

Get someone to flip the switch or use some electrical tape to hold it in the on position then you can test the blue wire....I would not leave it on too long cause you could over heat your trailer side of the brakes.

if you have the 1500 based on the GM900 platform, then there's a fuse in the engine compartment, that needs to be activated for the controller to work.
this happened on my 2007 Avalanche when i hooked up my Prodigy BC. nothing happened until the RV shop found out about this inactive fuse.
even the local Chevy dealership service dept. were unaware of it.

Do you mean the fuse may be missing?
My controller works it's just that it does not recognize that a trailer is hooked up.

On my '11 Silverado, I had to add a fuse and connect the factory wire to make the trailer brakes work.

Check the info at the link below.

Wheres my trailer ?

Update all is good now connected blue wire under hood to blue wire coming from controller haver power to rear now. It's funny how something so simple can drive you insane now on to the next project.

Getting everything ready for the trip that shouldn't take longer than a week or two .

Oh and thanks for all the help everyone.
