Which Equalizer?

Ok so I currently have 1K/10K Equalizer 4-pt hitch set. It was great with my 20', 4600 lb loaded TT @ 500 lb tongue weight, but now I may moving up to a 32', 6700 loaded TT @ 700-750 lb tongue weight.

Now I put those numbers in the Equalizer Hitch Sizing calculator it says for a 6700 lb trailer @ 750 lb hitch weight and 200 lb behind rear TV axle it says to use the 12K/12000K hitch.

Do you guys think I really need to move up to the 12K bars? I want to be as safe as possible, but don't want to overload the A-frame or receiver with too big a set of bars.

Thanks

Odd, sounds to me like you already have the correct hitch for that unit. I use the 600/6000 for my Mini Lite 2109S and it's nowhere near maxed out.

Keep what you have. You can't buy just new bars anyway as each size are different diameters.

I guess I should have started off by saying that I'll either be keeping my current Equalizer or selling it with my Roo. If I do sell it I'm wondering if I should buy the 1200K/12000K or get another 1K/1000K.

I think I'll likely get the 1200K/12000K if I do have to buy a new one.

750 + 200 = 950 - very close to the max on your current bars.
I say sell the current setup with the TT and get the heavier setup.

Oh I didn't catch the 200 behind the TV axle in the original post. I'd definitely go up to the 12/12 hitch knowing that.
