Which Hitch??

I am new to fifth wheeling and am wondering if anyone has any experience with the Hijacker 24-SL-16 16k Slider Fifth Wheel Hitch? My dealer is recommending this for an '04 Dodge 3500 short box. I am awaiting delivery of a new 28' Flagstaff super lite 5er. We have been rv'ing for 20+ years always with a TT hooked to the back of a truck and have traded an '05 Komfort Trailblazer for the new Flagstaff. We would appreciate any advice on the type and brand of 5er hitch to install.

Hi, seatosea.

Welcome to FRF.

Wish I could give you more info, but from what I've read, the Hijacker is sinmilar to the SuperGlide hitch.

I don't know anything about the Hijacker. I have a Curt 20K slider, which turned out to be overkill for me. I got it when I had the shortbed truck, but now have a long bed...and since they were out of 16K's at the time, they gave me the 20K for the same price. Anyway, the Curt seems to be a great hitch...nothing fancy, it just does its job. And I got the slider for the same price as a non-sliding Reese would have cost.

I'm big on Husky, myself. I think Reese is overpriced, and they kept getting more expensive since the 80's without making any real improvements until this year. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from the last 30 years of Reese non-improvements, though. It's not that they're a bad hitch, they just never improved them.
