That law is also present in Texas. Either move over or 20 below the limit.

The right lane most of the time I hate these idiots that don't know how to enter the highway they expect you to move over and don't realize that there is someone on your left side, they seam to forget how to use the gas pedal.

I hate it when Im cruising in the right lane and I'm leaving pleanty of room between me and the tractor trailer in front of me and someone in a tiny sports car pulls in between us to make his right lane exit ramp at the last second, looks like a scene from the Fast and Furious.

I try to stay in the right lane unless passing a slower vehicle unless I am in a section where there are a lot of on/off ramps and then I will stay in the center lane if one is available. I have had to lock things down several times in the right lane because some idiot doesn't know how to merge into traffic. But I really try to stay off of the interstates because you miss so much of the scenery. Also since I retired last year, I have stopped being in a hurry to get to the next camping place. I just make my reservations early and then I get there when I get there. That saves a lot on my nerves and I get to see more of the real country side.

Its the law for slower vehicles to stay to the right except to pass. Same highway sign is clearly posted in Idaho. People ignore it thinking it doesnt apply to them. Surprise - It is enforced. My co-worker didnt follow think it applied to her and was ticketed for driving her car (in the middle lane) slower with people passing her until she was pulled over. She tried explaining to the officer (and us at work) that 'she didnt know'. I'm not even from this area but can read the signs on the highways that state such.
The general speed limit on our area highways is 70 mph. I drive on the right and when approaching a merge ramp, move to the left to allow oncoming car in. Then move back to the right. We have pretty open highways and truckers are a common sight on the right. I follow them, passing only when going up the highway hills. I dont like not being able to see ahead, so pass the trucks if I can. Traffic on the west side of WA is crazy & drivers drive 'offensively' - can only thank the fact that growing up in S. CA and learning to drive 'defensively' is what helps me cope with Seattle drivers. haha

North Carolina used to post signs saying keep to the right. I haven't seen one of those signs in years, and apparently it is never enforced anymore. Trucks are required to keep to the right on multilane highways, but apparently this rule does not apply to motorhomes.
