Rear gear ratios are too often overloooked. With the OD and new double OD transmissions, I would always order the lowest (highest number) ratio available. The New 2014 F250 has a .67:1 OD final ratio in the trans. The math: 4:30 X .67= 2.88. If you're old enough, think back to the time when there were no OD transmissions.! Would you have ordered a new truck with a 2.88 rear end?!!? Probably not. Also consider that all the newer trucks are sitting on much taller tires than they used to.
