Isn't that a sweet truck! If I had $65k I didn't need, I would have my order in for one already. But, I'm still paying on my truck and fifth wheel, so it'll be a while...
I went down the same road with campers:
2007 Shamrock TT
2008 Flagstaff TT
2009 Wildcat Fifth Wheel
2011 Cedar Creek 36RD5S
2013 Columbus 385BH(Ordered)

I guess I have commitment issues.

Well....the irony sir, is that my bro in law gave me crap to no end about ford quality etc, etc......and he lost a tranny in is 10 dodge, then tranny and and engine issues with his 6 month old 11 dodge, he ended up giving the entire truck back, and getting a new 11 ....which promptly had tranny issues in 4 months.......so I agree lemons are everywhere.....I have heard of ford issues as well....but one guy who admittedly towed semi heavy going through 3 trannys?....what are the odds ?..

I moved from a Chevy 1500 to a Ford F250 with a 5.4 Triton, to a Ford F350 with a 6.0 diesel. Not a moment of regret with the F350. It will tow anything I'll ever get, and the diesel has much more usable power than the gasser ever did.

2010 GMC 1500 with heavy tow package, tranny cooler, factory installed break controller, firestone ride rite air springs, 2012 25rr TT, tow's fine, 14 mpg's towing while loaded with 2 quads. Plan is to upgrade truck and toyhauler in a couple years!

I had a 1/2 dodge ram when I pulled my popup then a 13' TT but when I bought a 27' tt I bought a 3/4 Silverado gasser 6.0 4:10 gears. Now I have a 35' TT and a 1 ton Dodge ram CTD and won't to gasser as long as I'm towing

Fixed that for ya.

Sorry, I'm skeptical of anyone that says they get 14 mpg towing a camper that isn't a popup.

went from 05 gmc 1500 hd gasser (6.0) with qudrasteer to 08 duramax 2wd. pulled a keystone copper canyon 3121 rls with both. got tired of listening to the 6.0 always running high in its powerband to pull it. pulled with no trouble at all tho. duramax pulls sooo much nicer. fuel economy while towing increased with the deisel, but i only run about 65 anyway.

only down side to either truck is the shortbed and their lousy 26 gallon tanks. love the quadrasteer on the 05. made getting into some spots easy as pie.love the power of the duramax.

ideal vehicle for me would be duramax with quadrasteer and bigger fuel tank. it is a wash comparing fuel economy between the 6.0 and the duramax, as they both are very close to the same. gas is cheaper and less stressful to find off the beaten path, but the more relaxed pulling power of the deisel makes the ride and drive more comfortable.

just my 2 cents which doesnt amount to anything.

My 1/2 ton Ram does not see 14 with an empty bed towing nothing I average about 13 overall daily driving. Camper on the back double digits become a pipe dream.

I tell people when they are selecting a TV get the one for the next TT you are planning to own, not the current one. I have been through two other TVs getting to the one I have now.

Presently I have a GMC Sierra 2500 Classic with the LBZ Duramax engine pulling my Puma Unleashed 27SBU. Great combo. Just got back from Wyoming, 3,000+ miles and averaged 10.2 MPG.

My previous trailer tipped the scales at nearly 5,000 that I pulled with Tacoma V6 2WD. It got a pretty solid 12-13 MPG.

Oddly enough, IF I had been towing the previous combo with something like a F150 I probably would have gotten better gas mileage. I new at least two people with 3326s and they were consistantly getting be mileage with F150 than I was.

When I got the 3/4 ton diesel I wanted something I could pull a 5ver with if I wanted to. Well we got the TH instead of a 5ver because the deal on the TH was huge.

The diesel has been better than expected. When I have compared to others pulling less of a trailer than I am, and what it is costing them to tow, diesel is the way to go.

It is costing me maybe 10% pulling such a big rig (truth is I could pull a 5ver for the same fuel bite). With ethanol prices forcing gas prices up, diesel is looking even better (Keystone please).

It is so nice to have such a nice TH and the diesel pulls so easily, even in the mountains. My pardette never wants to go back to the old trailer...
