The Equal-I-Zer is NOT friction sway control. The noise is the noise, and has nothing to do with sway control. The Sway control is a byproduct of proper weight distribution and leverage of the hitch head to the ball.

I used the teflon ball lube (Reese) on everything and it tamed the noise pretty well.

Read the website about 4 point control. It does say that the friction
Points is what helps the sway.

We just put one on our F150 pulling a Windjammer and love it. Much better than the sway bars and weight distribution system we had before.

After having two breakdowns with our Reese hitch. I got the equal-i-lizer 4 way hitch installed in Souix City SD on trip to visit family. BEST, move I ever made.

The hitch is so much easier to use and no problems with sway control. Very Happy with hitch.

We have an equalizer and it has been easy using once setup. A question though: can you upgrade the spring bars from 1000# to 1200# by simply replacing the bars or do the 1200# bars require a different hitch head?

Really? campingwilliamsons you couldn't be more wrong. (Unless there is another Equalizer company out there) This is taken right off of Equalizers website.

"The Equal-i-zer hitch's rigid bracket design provides two points of the 4-Point Sway Control. Our innovative rigid trailer brackets serve two purposes. First, they work in conjunction with the rotational friction sway controls to reduce trailer sway. Second, the forward and back friction of the hitch arm on the bracket serves as a secondary sway control system. The sway control brackets work much like two "add-on" sway bars, but with more sway stopping pressure and less hassle. The sway control brackets are the innovative link that makes the Equal-i-zer hitch 4-Point Sway Control system so effective.

Put them all together and you have 4 points of positive friction working for you. Take your towing to the next level with Integrated 4-Point Sway Control™."

I've had two. Currently using one for a 21fbrs and had another one for a Sunline 2363. I wouldn't leave home without one & don't care about the noise.

If I remember right...
You can just change the bars 10k to 12k. Going to the 14k is not a option as you would need a new hitch head. I went from 10k to 14k and needed everything.

I have contacted the factory.... the load bars are different dimensions for each size. You need to replace the head as well...

Had the same idea when we upgraded to our new TT... right at the top end of the 1K/10K head...
