Base Toyota Tundra models feature a standard 310-horsepower 4.6-liter V-8 that is capable of towing 6,800 pounds and has a maximum payload of 1,585 pounds. If you are looking for even more power, the 381-horsepower 5.7-liter V-8 possesses a maximum towing capacity of 10,500 pounds and maximum payload of 2,060 pounds.
2wd models

Here is some pics of my tundra with 2 ton of pellets in bed and its still but just off the bump stops. I very happy with mine and it tows great once you get the WDH set up properly. Oh and I loved my Ridgeline but wasn't enough for my use.

I have had both the 4.6 (2011) and now the 5.7 (2014) and like everyone else, my advice would be go with the 5.7.

I wAs pulling 4000 lbs with my Honda Pilot up to 9000 ft before switching to a tundra that a customer traded in. The pilot could pull the weight, on a 12% grade was at 40 ish mph @ 4500 rpm. It was pretty extreme conditions. I have at least 3 customers pulling r-pods with their ridgelines with no complaints.

Once we switched to the tundra, " now we can get a bigger trailer!" And we find ourselves back at the exact same spot! About 7500 lbs and 9000 ft...still the same struggle.
