Wireless light bar for towed vehicle

Could you please explain what a wireless tow bar is? Do you mean somehow operating brake lights and turn signals on the toad without a connection to the towing vehicle?

I think he means wireless tow light (bar). Not tow bar.

I use towmate on my Lincoln Navigator. Could not find how to get to rear lights so purchased an RV towmate. Expensive but works really well. I needed the suction brackets due to the new Navigator being Aluminum or plastic.

Yes I did mean wireless light bar for towed vehicle.

DSurette You plug a transmitter into plug on back of MH it then sends signals to the light bar on the towed vehicle without having any wire between the two.

I use Bully and they work great. Plug into 7way plug and magnetic lights to back of towed vehicle.

I also use the tow mate bar. I have done so since 2010 and since I am on my third toad. Glad for the opportunity to swap toads at will.

However, the 7 pin plug is now occupied by the tow mate's sending unit (sending brake and turn commands to the wireless tow lights).

I ran a thick wire from the motorhome's house batteries to the rear of the motorhome and also installed a trolling motor plug to charge the toad's battery.

I use a between the front seat and brake pedal braking system (Patriot). And I felt it important to keep the battery topped up in the toad as the braking system does use some power. (If you do this install circuit breakers at both ends of the new wire. One end at each battery or set of batteries. In this way any short will not start a fire.) And look up what gauge wire you need for the length of the run. In my case it was a pretty thick wire.

I chose to wire tie garden hose along the motorhome frame from my house batteries to the rear of the motorhome. And then ran the heavy wire inside to protect that wire. The negative wire can go to the frame of the motorhome and does not need to run back to the batteries. One also needs to run wire from the trolling motor plug at the front of the toad to the toad battery. I found the trolling motor plug fit into the mount supplied with my towing base plate.
