Yikes! Hope you don't plan on selling that diesel VW TV!

For 7 years, VW software thwarted pollution regulations - KOAA.com | Continuous News | Colorado Springs and Pueblo

Your Guide To Dieselgate: Volkswagen's Diesel Cheating Catastrophe*

Probably a small amount for these small cars, but it won't be good if it's yours.

sneaky.... not sure if people will want to give up their fuel economy and power in exchange to having to bring to a dealer for a software upgrade and some hardware installs

As someone posted elsewhere, I am sure those in smog areas won't have an option and the other DMVs would be smart to force owners to show recall repair paperwork to register their vehicles.

Not sure they would worry about it, but 40 times the allowable emissions probably won't pass. They also said the investigation will check to see if other manufacturers are cheating, too.

Impressive and creative- software to sense when an emission test is being done and kick in pollution control. Imagine what could be engineered if this creativity was channeled for the "good". hahhaha

Great case for why regulated corporations still need to be physically inspected and not allowed to self police. (Must admit though it was a very profitable idea)

VW did a 'stop-sale' here in Canada too and the DOT is investigating. However, here in Ontario, the emissions test for a diesel is 'idle warm for 2 minutes, if not smoking, good to go. $35 please' (maybe its just my vintage).
