2016 Charleston 430bh

I am seriously considering a 2016 bunkhouse for my family to travel cross country. My wife and I are brand new to the RV community and will have 3 children in tow. Anyone want to share the good/bad/ugly? I can't find much information out about the Charleston and it doesn't appear that there are too many on the road. Thoughts? Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated.

We considered the Charleston-- its certainty a great built coach. We were just never able to get the deal we wanted put together.

You will be very happy with the Charleston.

We have a 2015 Charleston 430RB for 2 years and we are very happy with it, we live in it full time since July of 16 and it has performed very nicely with very few issues. I am still amazed every time I come into the coach how nice it is. It seems to have everything that you want an more in an RV. The generator works great, I had to run it 8 days straight because the RV park took a hit in a bad storm and took them that long to restore power. With the 3 A/C’s you can keep the coach nice and cool on the hottest days and in the winter the heat pumps will keep you toasty down to 30 degrees and then switch over to propane heaters, they will drain your propane tank in a week of freezing weather, so I had to buy an external tank so I could get it refilled without moving the coach. The only issue I’ve had in the cold is the ice maker line froze and broke at 4 degrees, luckily it ran outside of the coach, made a very nice ice cycle.

Thanks! Great info! Where do you have your coach right now? We will be traveling to Ohio and then up to New York, down to Nashville then Florida and back over to Tucson.

Great to hear the good reports. (Of course, it's Forest River)
We are considering trading our 2015 Berkshire 400QL in on a new Charleston just before we start full time.
Only thing holding us up is hoping FR will start putting either AquaHot or Oasis heaters in it.

Ok this is going to sound like a dumb question, but what is the difference between aqua hot etc and the tankless water heater on the current charleston? Also, any idea when the 2018 models will come out?

From the Aqua-hot site:

*Features
-* Continuous on-demand hot water
-* Quiet, clean, even, moist interior heat
-* Adds thousands of dollars to the value of an RV
-* Two sources of energy for heating comfort
-* Uses AC shore power for light duty heating and hot water use
-* Uses diesel fuel for heating in colder temperatures and continuous hot water

It's a great thing to have in cold weather, but pretty expensive, I use rugs on the floor in the winter, floor is still cold..

We love our 2016 Charleston 430BH. We've had no issues mechanically, except the initial frustration of the hot water heater. I'm very happy with the price / value. It's not a Dutchstar, but not priced like one either. There are a number of things that I wish were a little better, but I realize it's a cost tradeoff for them.

I would buy it again.
