One and a half years and 15,000 miles pulling a Wrangler Unlimited and no problems. I would call Blue Ox direct and tell them about it before renting a trailer. Willing to bet they would have someone come to you and install a new base plate at no cost. Try it - nothing to lose and they're a great company.

3 years no problem is the tow bar level never try to back up or make sharp turns
Did it brake at the weld or did the steel break last but not lest who installed it
Sometimes when something is off a bit you. Get some rockt scientist who uses a bit of heat and a vice to make it fit

Yes. Mine become useless after towing my Jeep Cherokee to the Yukon. The quick release stack got bent and no help from Blue OX. Buy a different make. I would switch to Road Master. Sorry for your trouble. Blue Ox use to be a good company but now I don't know?

We put 14000 on last year alone pulling a Lincoln MKX. No problems. Before that we pulled a Jeep Wangler two door. No problems.
I know if you try backing up up can damage things very quickly. But I don't think any of the tow systems let you back up. If I have to I unhook.

Uh oh! Hope they had the secondary safety cables attached from the base plate to the vehicle frame. I think I'd be talking with whoever installed it.....very seriously!

Yes we had on our Jeep Cherokee. The tow plate broke my frame extension and the stubs bent going to Alaska. I was told the blue ox tow bar caused it by the Jeep dealership.

I watched my install and it was done correctly. In my case the roads were bad and the Blue Ox tow bar as it is designed not supporting the lateral movement.

Which Blue Ox tow bar do you have?

Also what did Blue Ox have to say about the issue? Have you contacted them?

I think it's called Aventa 10,000 lb. Blue Ox never got back to me after I have sent the pictures to them. I will never buy another product from them. I had good luck with them in a past that's why I bought the plate for my Jeep. If the frame is heavier like my 3500 Dodge was, it worked fine.
