No hot water on 2016 Charleston

Does anyone have any ideas on why hot water will not work? Ignite failure light is off and not on. We had hot water last year but after winter now no hot water.

What kind of water heater is it? If Girard tankless you need to make sure all the air is purged from the water lines.

There's a tiny reset button near the upper left of this picture. The top end of the purple wire is attached to it. Open the compartment and press that button (it will barely depress) then have someone turn on the hot water at full force. The burner should light.

When you put the panel back on, make sure the air intake pipe (attached to the copper elbow just to the right of the center of the photo) is lined up with the hole in the panel so that you're not blocking air going into the heater.

Edgewant, what would happen if all air was not purged before I tried to turn on hot water. I may have tried to purge using hot water valve in sink. Reading up on dewinterizing it did not say use cold water first but turn on both hot and cold valves. Could this be an issue? I know it is purged now... and when I turn on hot water valve I can hear water going to heater and blower at heater is on but only cold air coming from blower.

Not sure about the Atwood. Girard recommends that you go to each faucet and purge both hot and cold. That includes the outside shower. Air in the lines prevents the flow switch from detecting water flow properly. If the Atwoods are like the Girard and have a sail switch (it detects that the cooling fan is on) it could also be the culprit. But as previously mentioned you should start with the reset button.

Are you connected to city water? The Attwood tankless will not fire if insufficient water flow is detected.....can't be certain, but I think it needs 1.5 gpm before it will fire. Also this heater is subject to a recall, check with Attwood to see if yours is on the list. We had plenty of issues with ours, but Attwood stood by the product and some new parts its now working as advertised.

Harley2152, is yours the Atwood OD-5001CW? I haven't received any recall notice. But b I will check n itbout. Last year when we picked it up new from dealer we did not have hot water and they had to replace a relay I think it was. I'll call dealer on Monday.

And no I am not hooked to city water. Using the tank and water pump. When you turn on a hot water faucet it sounds like the heater is working. The blower kicks on but stays on even when you turn hot water faucet off.

Yes that is the heater we have. Not surprised you didn't receive a recall notice. Feel free to PM me and I can fill you in on how we got ours to work after many calls to Attwood.

We just purchased a 2016 Charleston 430RB and having intermittent issues also. It has an Atwood as well. When we purchased our coach we were able to stay in it at the dealership for a couple of days to test everything out. The first night we had no issues running of the freshwater tank and pump. The second night we where moved to one of there spots that had city water and was using a 40psi water regulated and had issues with it staying warm, but worked fine using both city and the water pump.

The dealership robbed one from another coach (same model) and said it was fixed so we went home. Same problem occurring. It seems to be low water pressure causes the issue. I contacted Forest River about the recall and they said to contact Atwood.

I will contact Atwood today and post my findings here.
