Anyone up for a Moondance?

We will be traveling from SE Texas this summer to Walker, Minnesota for the Moondance Jam Festival. Anyone out there going, or have been before? My question specifically is about generators, since this will be camping with no utilities, and, as it is a music festival, I imagine that generators will not be very welcome or appreciated. What has anyone else done in this regard? We do dry camping occasionally, but usually have a place to plug in every other day or so.

Our party has been going for many years. Great party and music (although the classic rock bands are harder and harder to come by these days). To your question, generators are allowed but required to shut down during quiet hours so people can sleep (after all a little sleep is required in order to spend four days in the sun). Many campers and tents crammed into small spaces (I think dimensions are 18 x 30). There are a few electric sites; don't know about availability at this point in time. Great outdoor facility, well planned event and good people. Enjoy.

Sorry about that. I should have said TTs and Motorhomes not campers (an old habit).

I have friends from Avatan Resort in Minnesota that go there every year. Have fun, I'll be at Avatan enjoying the pool.

This will be our second year going to the Jam. Like the other person said, generators are fine, I've seen many. Last year we had a electrical site, this year we opted for more of the woodsy site so we'll use the generators. The rules are to have them off by 2am! You can see videos online that show the campsites. Look for camping contest videos. Is is great for RV's! The people are great too! Both staff and campers! See you there!

Video of camping.

Here's a link that if you look past the people in front, you'll get an idea of some of the campground area. http://youtu.be/PC8qiz9k0R4

Internal clock goes off early. 😜

After all, you only live once! This is also a chance to be young again. (This being said, I may need to take the next week off to recoup!)
