Austin, San Marcos RV parks

Going to be spending a week in that area in april. Need recommendations on rv/cg there. Looking at pecan grove in downtown austin as one choice. DW attending conference at Hyatt which is walking distance from pecan grove.
Where to stay in San Marcos? Any experienced members here? Thanks.

If you can get spot in Pecan Grove in Austin, you will enjoy the environment. Lots to do in that area of the City. Most of the park is permanent residents but they do have a few spots for campers. No online reservations, you have to call to book. Pecan Park in San Marcos is a nice RV park on the San Marcos River. Might be too cold to tube the river but close driving to the outlet mall.

I recommend you look at Austin Lone Star. We stayed there in mid December 2014.

Thanks. Pecan park was my first choice for San Marcos area. I'll check out lone star. Austin stay is strictly convenience for conference but San Marcos is for pleasure.

Never stayed at Lone Star but get my propane filled there often and haveused them to dump tanks. Looks like a nice park. Just an FYI, if you’reoffended by an adult bookstore, there is one next door to the park. The park isheavy with trees so you can't see it from within the park.

Spent 3 weeks in San Marcos back in my police days. Great place and super nice people. Tubed the river every day. Brings back some great memories. Enjoy!

Pecan Park Riverside in San Marcos is one of our favorites, nice large sites with shade trees in walking distance of the river. Lots of restaurants nearby and two great outlet centers for shopping.

Sirsea, my wife has been to San Marcos several times but my first trip. She's all excited about "the best outlet mall in the world." I'm just happy to see there's a cabelas nearby. And food.

You might try La Hacienda, very nice park....not sure how far it would be from the Hyatt though.

Made it in one night early. Arrived at pecan park riverside just at dark. Can't see much but lots or huge trees. David was very understanding of our early arrival and made accommodation. Drove in downpour most of the way. Glad to be here.

This place (pecan park riverside) is really quiet at night. Huge trees with plenty shade. Office staff very friendly. But they are pretty lenient on some rules. ie. No golf carts or scooter riding in the cg. (Golf carts parked in front if several units and riding around. And, No alcohol containers in public view. Neighbors had a Coors suitcase on their picnic table and drank them all last night. 6 people.
But nice folks and no problems. Would stay here again.
