Beaver's Bend SP in Oklahoma

Just back from 3 nights with the wife and our old faithful Sheltie-Border Collie mix, Sandy. We saw the early turning of the leaves down in the park, and I got some fly-fishing in. We took several walks and it's really a beautiful place. A burn-ban was in effect so we couldn't have a camp fire, but sitting out listening to the owls and other night-time wild life was nice.

The spring and early summer floods did a lot of damage in the river and basically changed it a lot. The park itself is pretty much unchanged and undamaged, from what I could tell, other than some road damage and a washed-out bridge. We are somewhat regulars there these days, and will spend even more time there after I retire next November. We usually don't start going up there this early. It's still a bit warm in the daytime, but there were a couple of mornings in the mid 40s down on the river. November to early April is when we usually like to go... not many around, and it's so quiet...
