The Badger Ferry is great. Also, Door County has 5 Wisconsin State Parks, everyone is amazing. You must visit a few.

Okay, so now I can personally verify that there is minor road construction between Sheboygan and Manitowoc on I-43. We drove through it at the lower speed limit so not too big of a hiccup. It does take the 4 lane highway down to one lane in each direction (which are not together) so it wasn't bad at all. No other road construction on the way to Egg Harbor if you take I-43, STH 57, and STH 42.

There isn't any construction on I 94 South of Milwaukee and there is no construction on I 43 north through Milwaukee. The road construction in Milwaukee is all near the Zoo Interchange aka I 894 and I 94 interchange to the west of downtown.

It was awesome up there too. Mosquitoes were out but not overwhelming and I didn't see any black flies. Spent 4 days at Peninsula State Park.

I think the Door County Distillery and Winery Tour would be cool, I just stopped and got booze while the kiddos were asleep. It's also time to pick cherries so that may be fun to do also. If you are camping at a state park the wood has to be from within 10 miles of the park and it is much cheaper on the side of the road than at the park ($2.50/bundle vs $6/bundle), so stop when you get close.
