Blue Bell CG, Custer State Park, South Dakota

Just got back from a 5 day "weekend" in Custer State Park, SD. Beautiful time of the year to be there and fewer people. Next weekend is the Buffalo roundup so there will be many people around. We had a visitor trying to blend in so as not to become part of the roundup. More pictures in our album.

We were there at the same time you were, it was a great campground and centrally located. The buffalo and turkeys were great neighbors - lol

Yup, you can't beat Custer State Park in the fall. Most of the campgrounds in the park close after this weekend but I believe Blue Bell is open until Oct. 30 and Game Lodge is open all year. We hope to camp every month of the year, weather permitting. Two years ago we camped at Game Lodge in December but it was a quick one, just over night and back home.

Camping every month.

I wish we close enough to be able to camp there every month. We left Monday morning to head back in Michigan. Tonight we are camped in the Warren Dunes just into MI and on the shores of Lake Michigan. A different kind of view from the mountains but still awesome.
