RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks has always served me well.

Looks like the DW and I may be heading that way this summer, too.

Edit: not sure where all that above verbiage came from a simple C&P of the URL. Hmm.

We haven’t stayed right at either of those. The closest stops we’ve had were:

We stayed at Poche’s Fish and RV Park in Lafayette, LA.

Pensacola RV Park was nice and good for an overnight.

And then much further into Florida, we stayed in Lake City at what used to be called Oaks an’ Pines RV Park. They had the nicest private pool table that I’ve ever seen!

The forum software, when using the website, does that for you.

McLeod Park consists of 328 acres and is about 3 miles off of I-10. The park is located on the Jourdan River. McLeod Water Park is operated and maintained by the Hancock County Park Commission.

McLeod Park is located off Texas Flat Road approximately 1 ½ miles west of Highway 603 in the Kiln Community. Take exit 13 North off Interstate 10. This park does not have sewer hook up, but does have a dump station.

We are going to Orlando from East La and are stopping at Suwannee River State park , east of Tallahassee. There really was not much to choose from.

In February, we stayed at Indian Point RV Resort just south of I-10 in Gautier, MS, and at Big Lagoon State Park in Pensacola, FL. You can read my reviews of both on campgroundreviews.com.

If you do stop in or near Pensacola, do not miss the fantastic National Naval Aviation Museum at Pensacola Naval Air Station. You could easily spend most of a day there and at the adjacent national monument fort and lighthouse. As a bonus, you might even catch the Blue Angels, who are based there, in a practice drill. My wife, who is no fan of WWII, enjoyed that museum, but she had even more fun climbing around a WWII battleship and submarine at the USS Alabama museum in Mobile.

I always use RV Park Reviews, when going to a new area. It really is the best app/tool I have found. The reviews are honest, there is a link to the campground website and phone numbers, and it gives you an idea of the cost before you get too far into the process. You can also use the map to get an overhead view of the campground. All in a single place.

No, I am not a paid spokesperson. I simply like the app and use it all the time.

Here's a suggestion for the Tallahassee area. https://www.suwanneeriverrendezvous.com/

If you want a little side trip on the way to Orlando and like nature here is a suggestion with a cool little county campsite with hookups. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUser...e_Florida.html It's right across from the entrance to St Marks Natl Wildlife refuge which is a bird lovers and history buffs paradise. And right down the road from Wakulla Springs State Park. I highly recommend the boat tour of the Springs. You would drop down at Tallahassee to get there and then continue east through the beautiful rural countryside with very little traffic. Don't miss Deals Oysters on Hiway 98 just west of Perry. They have their own boats on the gulf so the seafood is fresh and delicious. Good parking for big rigs there as well. Continue East to High Springs (passing the Ichnetucknee Spring Run which is the most beautiful river in Florida) and meet up with I-75 which will take you south to Orlando.

For an overnighter we usually stayed at Chattahoochee/Tallahassee West KOA. Going or coming and if casinos are you forte try Majestic Oaks RV Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi.
