I'm sorry that happened to you - it's so disappointing when people do things like that, it can put a damper on the whole trip

Sorry to hear that. Most people in the UP don't even lock the doors. You never know who you share a campground with.

Thieves...they're everywhere
My brother -in-law laughs at me because I keep my hatches locked.
I am a good person and would never take someone else's property but cases like this demonstrate why I lock everything down. Thieves They're everywhere.

having stayed @ that CG a number of times, surprised to hear of this. but guess you never know. Could some other folks (campers?) have wandered by during the switcheroo and snagged those?

You know the same 751 key that opens your hatches opens everyone else's? It also open utility cabinets, generator doors, some paper towel holders......

This is a prime example of why we had our surge protector hard-wired and changed all 751 compartment locks to cam locks. Trust no one. Sorry to hear about it, Herb.

Sorry about your stay in the U.P. We live on a major highway up here very seldom lock things up. My son lost one of his kayaks off the back of his MH on the way to Copper Harbor and a few days later it was turned into the Sherriff's office. We feel safe here most of the time .

Used to be that campers never had to worry about this sort of thing. Guess times have changed.

So you called the Sheriff and reported a crime and they basically did nothing...go figure.

Well that sucks.
I tend to want to trust people but I guess I might start thinking of changing my 751 locks. Hmmmm.

agree I'm thinking the same... do you think most Hardware Stores have locks that will fit?

I went with the Combi-Cam Combination locks, from Amazon. 3 digit combination & you don't have to mess with keys.

Sales rep mentioned the 751 key to me at time of purchase. Changed all of my locks to a different series, so it will stop most keys. However I have seen were dealership have a master 700 key that opens all. If you are interested Rv Locks and More sells the cam part of the lock and keys fairly cheap if you want to get away from the 751 series. Locks typically keep honest folks honest, nothing short of a guard dog and or a firearm will stop a thief.
