Mother Neff State Park — Texas Parks & Wildlife Department
Haven't been to this one, but I may try it out later this year. Had some friends stay a while back and enjoyed it.

The I-35 RV park up north of town is okay. They have nice size pull thrus with some basic amenities. Last time I was there they needed a little more grounds work but nothing bad. Downside to this park is the construction north of Waco on I-35. But all told, it's not a bad park & economical-- I've stayed there twice.
The Army COE has a nice campground out highway 6 just before the lake called Midway COE. They have 6 pull-thrus with full h/u & 50 amp. The rest of their spots are pretty good too and shady. But they are w/e only with 30 Amp. They have a dump.
There are a couple of other campgrounds but nothing I've chosen to stay at. The KOA up north of town doesn't look like much driving by. And there's a Riverview park that appears kind of overgrown and well off the beaten path.

Also, I'm a big fan of campgroundreviews.com. where I can get straight reviews from fellow campers. I like that site better than Woodalls where some generic "expert" rates camps on a 1-10 scale.

There is a real nice COE CG on Stillhouse Hollow Lake outside Temple, back-in sites about 20' from the water. We paid $10 with the Sr. Nat'l Park pass.

I live just north of Waco and there is a few good parks to stay at!
Thousand Trails of Whitney is a good one, it's about 40 min north of Waco. Full hook ups, lots of shade, 2 swimming pools, lots of good walking trails, lots of activities. I'll be at this one for memorial day weekend!
Mccowin Park on Lake whitney is another good one. They have a sandy beach that is a nice swimming area for the family.
Some friends of ours keeps trying to get us to go to one down in Temple that they claim is super nice and right on a small lake that is really nice to swim in. We are going to try and hit it this summer!
