Campgrounds in Branson/Springfield, MO

Hello all! We are planning a trip to Branson/Springfield, MO next month, and are looking for recommendations for campgrounds. We like fairly roomy spots, want full hookups, and need a pool for the kids.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

Branson has many campgrounds, but this year we were there for the FROG Rally and most parks in the area were under water due to the floods and we were in the ABC park (Americas best campground) high and dry. Really nice but I don't think there was a pool. Super nice campground with full hook-ups.
Branson is a cool town for entertainment. Every show in the City is kid friendly, I mean all shows. Check it out.. Good luck and

We were at the first FROG Rally at ABC CAMPGROUND in May...and I had to look now to recall...but...YES they do have a pool according to the site map. Just north of the main office building.

It was our first trip ever to Branson and when we go back we will be staying at ABC again for sure.

Tell them that the FROGS sent you.

Just happened to think...about size of sites.....There were over 70 BIG Monaco motorhomes in the park the same week we were there. The campgroung that they were supposed to be in had high water issues and had to move in with us at ABC.
It ALL worked too.

We were in Branson last summer. I can not tell you whereto stay... Just where not to.
We stayed at the state park campground on table rock lake.
A beautiful spot, however the bathrooms were full of mold and filthy to the point
Of being unusable. We have our own washroom in the camper, but like the option of a longer shower when we
Are in a campground.
The management said something about a broken exhaust fan (in all the bathrooms?)
We asked for a refund for our remaining days, which they were not wanting to give us, but did eventually.

We have had mostly good experiences in state parks... But we were very concerned about the
Conditions in this one....

We go to Branson twice a year and we stay at the Wilderness. Some of the sites are pretty small but others aren't too bad. They do have a pool and are very friendly and helpful. They have a website and it has a map of the cg to give you a better idea. We are going about the same time as you. Hope you have a great time. We love it down there.

Roomy and Branson don't go together. As others have said, ABC is probably as good as any. They do have a pool but it was still covered and closed when the FROG rally was there. The Hot Tub was open though.

We've stayed at the Compton Ridge Campground across the street from Wilderness and thought it was a bit better. BTW Compton Ridge has two pools, one is indoor. To each his own.

Oh darn!! must be an old age thingy....careful Bob... I do remember the pool now that you mentioned it. Closed when we were there.. Great place to take the kids. Swings and slides too. it was a job keeping BOBFIDY off the swings, his long legs would have drug on the ground..

We were in Branson 2 weeks ago. ABC ( Americas Best Campground ) is where we stayed. We were next to a 1.6 Million Dollar Newell Motor Coach. Provided good shade for us until they left the day before we did. That thing was awsome. Maybe Someday!! Anyway sites are decent and bathrooms are roomy and super clean. Does have nice pool for kids and was not crowded as most sites were without kids. Staff were very nice. Would stay there again if we ever went back, but we are in GA and it was a long drive and Ozarks were tough on me mentally.

Thanks very much for the input everyone! Looks like we have some research based on the recommendations here...you've narrowed it down to a few choices.

Thanks again!

If you have Passport America, you can't go wrong with Branson's Ozark Country Campground. We stayed there last year and it was great. $20.00 a night for full hook-ups with the PA discount. They have a great pool, and fairly roomy sites...not big, but adequate I think. They were building some new concrete slab sites when we were there. Check them out:
