We live in Cleburne so whenever the itch for a short camping trip hits us we make it out to the state park.

Another short trip you might consider is Loyds Park in Grand Prairie, on Joe Pool Lake. Lots of trees, some decent spacing, but book ahead! They were full for Easter and the week prior. It's a city park, by the way. Close enough for some of us the drive it, pick out preferred sites, and then reserve online, or just check out their reservation page, most sites have pics!

Cleburne state park

Got a couple days off so we drove down to Cleburne State Park. This is our first time here and are having a great time and look forward to being able to make it back soon.

We really enjoy this park as its pretty spacious and well kept in my opinion. Poplar point is the place to stay.

Is Cleburne SP big rig friendly? I have a 40 foot 5th wheel.

Yes, there are several spots that you can fit in my opinion. Those spots go fast though.
