Door County campgrounds

My husband and I are looking for a campground in Door County for this July. Tried to book at Peninsula SP but nothing available for our dates so we are looking for recommendations for something else nearby. Not so interested in "activities" at the CG but a wooded area close to interesting places on the peninsula. Has anyone stayed at Fish Creek CG or Baileys Woods CG? Where else? Our first summer as RVers and first time in Wisconsin for these Texans. Thanks!

Just returned home from staying in Door County. We stayed at the Quietwoods South in Brussels, WI. It is a Good Sam park. They have limited full hook ups, but do have their own "honey wagon" available on Mon, Wed, and Fri. We would stay there again.

If you want a quiet little gem I recommend Monument Point Camping in Carlsville. It is small. Most their sites have gone seasonal so they can stay afloat so sites are limited. They don't have any "activities" except a small sand pit for volleyball and kids. The bathrooms are spacious and clean should you choose to use them. Can't say enough about the staff. My husband and I go there every year and the owner knows us when we call. Quiet times strictly enforced. If you like campfires, they sell huge bundles of wood for $7 or $8. They maintain a very small camp store. You can fill up your water tank there and they have a clean dump station on site. Only electrical available. Nothing is far from anywhere else in Door County since it isn't huge. This campground is very close to Door County Winery and Door County Coffee and is about 10 minutes from Egg Harbor. I just can't say enough about this place. I almost hate to give it away. But it's so hard to find a small quiet, shady campground without all the pools, bars, pinball rooms, etc. I feel it only fair to let campers like my husband and I know about it. Hope this helps!

We stayed at Egg Harbor campground last year. Very nice and clean and wooded and they have a pool. Recommended.

There are two campgrounds that we have used one is in Rowleys Bay; Wagon Wheel campground but full-hook ups are limited. The other is Rustic Timbers Door County Camping outside of Egg Harbor WI. We have stayed at both and the Rustic Timbers does have full-hook-up pull thru sites with 50AMPs.

Just returned from a week in Door County. Stayed at Potawanti State Park in Stuegeon Bay and Timber Trails in Algoma, WI. The state park is located at the southern end of Door County, providing you with access to all of the county including Washington and Rock Islands.

Timer Trails has very large campsites and are very reasonable. Other than abutting a state hiking trail there is little to do in Algoma. You still have access to Door county, you are just a few miles further south.

Potawatomi State park is one of our favorites. If you are looking for a private campground and you have kids, I would look into Harbour Village. It has a 6000 gallon waterpark area with two waterslides. There is also an adult only pool and the campground is right next to a Winery and distillery.
