Need dry camp ideas, MPLS to S. Texas on a 40ft Cl A

Newbie. Driving I-35 south...from Minneapolis to South Texas.
Would appreciate ideas on nice places to get my feet wet on dry camping on a 38ft class A and a toad.
Would like to enjoy some peace and quiet for a day or 2 or 3, some fishing, walking, reading or just hang out and learn how it is done.
Been to private camps, some state parks and other noisy places and ready to rough a bit but don't want to scare DW or get stuck somewhere I cant turn the rig back or a place only the pros would try.

I have no idea where you'd find dry camping sites on that route.

Since you don't want to scare the wife and want a bit of piece and quiet, I'd suggest trying some US Corps of Engineers sites ( www.recreation.gov).
Most sites are water and electric only and are generally quiet. Most are on lakes with fishing available. We've been to several and generally are popular with the retired crowd since you can camp for half price with the National Park Pass. They're not generally a rowdy group.

You generally can't use a generator, but you can simulate camping without water. Dump stations are usually located on your way out.

Look for state parks and rv spots next to bodies of water even if they are full hookup. You can still choose not to hook up but if you feel the need you have the option

Most municipalities have an RV park/parking some with full hookup some without a lot of them also have dump stations...might call ahead to some of the smaller cities and enquire
