We are headed out for our first really long trip to Fort Pickens Fl. Excited, taking 3 days to get there from Ok. Anybody been there? Tips on what to see or do there?

We love the place, See the Forts / Batterys on the Island. You have to go see the Naval air museum.

If possible try to camp in loop A ,It's the smallest of the two camp grounds.The other loop also is very nice, sometimes it holds water after a hard rain........You will not want to leave ,,have fun

We go there every winter for 2weeks. You will love it, beach is across the road from the campgrounds. I agree with others on seeing forts, Naval Museum ( if can watch the Blue Angels Imax film ). Eat at Maguires Irish Pub very unique and great food. Have fun !

Make sure you get a Grouper sandwich for lunch at Peg Leg Petes.

So due to shut downs we had to change plans
Headed towards Big Lagoon Sp Fl hope we like it. Not far from Fort Pickens.

Also you might want to check out Gulf Shores Alabama SP. It's just west of Ft Pickens.
