Going camping, Who else?

Hello everybody,
Just wanted to see who is willing to share if they have gone or are getting ready to go camping for the first time this year. I'm in Kansas so the weather is just getting enjoyable. We sold our old TT and are getting ready to try out our new Sandpiper 365saq at lake Wilson this weekend, so excited to spend time with the family and friends (also use the outdoor kicthen). Hope everybody has a safe and enjoyable summer.

We have our first trip planned for a long Easter weekend down to Lake Texoma. We have 30 nights already reserved so far for the upcoming season without anything booked yet for July or August. Enjoy your first trip out!

Thanks Randy
Wow 30 nights reserved. I think we have about 18 for this season. My wife is a teacher so her and the kids pretty much live at the lake during the summer and there will be many more than that on the days camped counter. Lol

Hey Kris,
We do a lot of weekend get aways. Try to catch a lot of the State Parks. Besides our trip to Texoma we have two longer trips planned. Going down to Georgia in June to see my kids and then the Mt. Rushmore trip in September. We'll work a few more in during the summer as well. What lake does your family visit?

I have the week off so we r headed for south padre island tx n the morning. Not a long drive and we go there often. We love the beach, fishing and just hanging out in the puma grilling steaks and consuming lots of Colorado kool aid. I'm already hitched and packed. I'll stop and get some groceries on the way to SPI in the morning.

Dewinterizing next weekend and heading out the following weekend to a local state park. Planning for 65-70 nights this year with "big" trips to Hatteras and Myrtle Beach this summer. Have 10 nights reserved so far.

It`s autumn in Australia and a great time for camping as it`s extremely busy over summer, especially on the coast as everyone wants to be at the beach. We`ve had a very wet summer with terrible floods in a large area of New South Wales, the state we live in.
We set off on a 28 day trip at the end of Feb. intending to camp at 8 different locations, however we had to return home after 2 nights as everywhere we wanted to camp was in the flooded areas.
Hopefully we can get away on thurs. for about 10 days.

Enjoy your summer everyone, after looking at some of the photos I can see you have plenty of great camping locations that are very well set up. We tend to camp a lot more casual than you do.

Cheers, Robyn.

Randy,
We go to lake Wilson. We will stay in different parks though out the summer. I have been to Mt. Rushmore before I was married and hopping to get the wife and kids that way some day too. The Crazy Horse mounment is really intersting also as is the Badlands. Kamp K, it sounds like you have your whole summer planned already. Keep the posts a coming.
Be safe and have fun.

I'm heading out next week for 5 nights at the beach. This will be my longest trip yet. I'm the main caregiver for dad which means I got to find coverage when I'm gone.

My son, Spartacus (dog) and I just got back from spending 7 nights and 8 days of camping, with lots of hiking and mtn biking.
We spent 5 nights at Cheaha State Park. (The highest point in Alabama) and 2 nights/3 days at Lake Lurleen State Park.
We all 3 are give out from all the hiking and mtn biking
But we hate to be back home and start the normal routine.

This was my son's last spring break, since now that he is a Senior in HS and ships off to BT in the Army just a few days after he graduates in May.

The 2904SS pulled OK loaded down.
The F250 would drop down to about 25 mph on the steep mtn grades.

I got the cap for my truck just a week before the trip. It worked great and I should have got one a long time ago! Was nice to just leave the mtn bikes and hiking gear in the truck and it all be secure and out of the weather.
Spartacus traveled well back there too.

This was last week at Joint Base San Antonio Recreation Area (formerly Randolph AFB or Ft. Sam Houston Recreation Area). My little brother got married on the 11th, so it gave us a good excuse to go camping close by.

We got the LaCrosse out of the RV operating room Sat. and spent the weekend reloading, washing and cleaning the roof, so it will be ready to hit the road maybe next weekend for our first trip in it (kind of a shake down trip). Maybe go to Lynn County Park at LaCygne as it is nearby.

Hope everyone is looking forward to a fantastical year.

We got back yesterday afternoon after spending four nights and days at Cedars of Lebanon State Park near Lebanon, TN. It was our first outing in our Puma, really enjoyed it, especially when it rained. We stayed close to home on our first trip, now to venture out into the world.

Spent the last 2 weekends de-winterizing, washing, waxing, and cleaning roof - just in time to collect some pollen. We have 21 nights booked now through July 4. Now I have to plan where to go the rest of the summer/fall. Can't wait.
