Now that is an interesting question... I remember when our gas was high and NJ prices were rock bottom I heard of RUMORS that it was illegal for people to come across to NJ and fill 5gal cans up and load up their vehicles to avoid the taxes. Same with smokes and booze. But this was only a rumor, no one I knew had any first hand experience.

Not sure because as Canadians we get charged duty on any gas carried outside of vehicles fuel tanks as in gas cans
But not sure of mounted tanks in trucks
