Guadeloupe Mountain Natl Pk.

I'm headed out next week to hike up and primitive camp in the Guadeloupe mountains between el Paso and Midland Texas.
Anyone been there and can offer insight?
I'm sure gonna miss the rockwood.

I've done what you're describing but it was quite a few years ago. What info are you looking for?

Things to look for, best trails, hidden water holes or waterfalls, best wildlife spotting areas. Anything to make it special. Been on my and younger brothers bucket list a long time. Now in our 50s we're making the trip. Backpacks, bedrolls, tents and water.

We hiked Devil's Hall Trail, McKittrick Canyon Trail, and Guadalupe Peak Trail. Liked all of them. In my opinion you should definitely climb to the top of Guadalupe Peak for the great views. There is also a backcountry campsite about a mile below the summit that you can camp in. Be sure to carry lots of water, and be prepared for high winds at times.

I'd wait until late fall. August is not hiker friendly!

If you want to search the internet for applicable information, spell it "Guadalupe" as banda did above. Just tryin' to help.

Also, Mewcasa has a good point. It's HOT in that part of Texas this time of year.
