I'm planning a route through Colorado next week (coming from Ohio) and was wondering if it's best to travel on I-70 to Limon then down route 24 to Colorado Springs or would it be better to exit I-70 in Oakley, Kansas and take route 40 to route 94?
Distance going the southern route is about 13 miles shorter but time is a few minutes longer. Was just wonder how the roads were and if the change in scenery was worth it.
After driving through Kansas we would welcome something other than highway to see.
