You might look at Potato Creek St. Park in NW Indiana. Awesome modern park with lots to do but maybe too far for your friends from "up north."

We had the same dilemma last weekend. 4 Star in Marseilles was our answer. The folks running the campground couldn't have been kinder.

Casey Il is in the south east part of the state and it's home to 8-10 Guinness Book of World Records. Worlds Largest; working wind chimes, rocking chair, knitting needles, and rural mail box come to mind. Richard's Barn is a great place to eat. It was a dairy barn. You can spend a afternoon in town. There's a KOA about a north of town.

gfarmcafe mentioned the campground in Rantoul. I live about 5 miles south of Rantoul. There was a Chanute Air Force base museum that was worth going to but is now closed due to lack of funds.

Fox Ridge State Park in Charleston is a nearby alternative to the KOA. When in this area, visit the Lincoln Log Cabin state historic site.

Green river oaks near Amboy. Changed ownership few years back. New owners have cleaned it up nicely.

We actually use to go there with the kids a long long time ago. Can barely remember it. The way the weather has been I think I want to go further south. Hopefully get some 50-60 degree weather
