Iowa I80 bouncy.?.?
Was it just us or is I80 from one end of Iowa to the other bouncy as heck? We've got a 2015 coachmen 320BBDS pulled by a 2003 Dodge 3500 crew cab. We went all the way across Illinois and half way through SD, didn't notice it anywhere else other then on I80.
It did seem better when we went over a bridge or found an asphalt patch.
My question or concern is whether anyone else has come across this or is there an issue with out setup/suspension.?.?

My guess is your camper knows how much Iowa blows and was trying to fly over it rather than touch the road...
I noticed the same thing in many places as I drove across IA 5 weeks ago. Two weeks ago as we were heading to Minnesota, my wife noticed how bouncy the road was. Just assume sections are like that. I usually try the other lane and/or adjust speed a bit to try and find the sweet spot. I think our 1 tons are firmer then most tv's also.

Not bouncy if you compare it to a plowed field. Only one worse is I 10 around New Orleans.

Sounds like they haven't fixed it yet.......in the early 1980's, I actually got stopped by the Iowa State Police for driving my MH to slow on I-80......it was coming apart at the seams!......

I heard from a good source that the state was going to start resurfacing as soon as TURBS paid his taxes.

I picked up our new camper in Walcott Iowa January 2014 and took I80 back to Illinois. I've got a strong WDH that makes the TV - TT connection solid. On that stretch of I80 I thought something was terribly wrong because the rig was bucking so bad. I had to go really slow. Like you said, once we crossed the big bridge it got way better. Only place it has ever acted that way.

Well that makes me feel a lot better. I wasn't sure if something was wrong ith the rig or not but not I'm certain the only thing wrong in the engineer who laid the road.

I've been over parts of I-80 in Indiana and Ohio that were worst than Iowa's and don't listen to anyone from Nebraska, their too wrapped up in their football to pay attention to anything else. :-}

Iowa I80 bouncy.?.?
Honestly I haven't noticed this...but then again i haven't towed outside of Iowa for comparison. So many great campgrounds around the state that it is taking a while for me to venture further.
Iowa, especially northeast Iowa towards the Mississippi, is actually quite spectacular.

Pretty sure I've seen it posted as a problem area before on this forum, but I-465 around Indianapolis is notorious for this as well, especially the northeast quadrant. Have literally had to go down to 30 MPH to keep the bounce under control, and have made a commitment to finding another way around Indy when we head south on any trips (home is 30 miles north of Indy).
Safe travels!
