Hey Toby, so where is just a bit north? Been to Prairie Rose several times although not recently. Haven't been to Arrowhead, mainly because of no reservations and having to work. Planning on trying it now that we are retired and can go mid-week. So what kind of smoker do you have?

We dropped the camper off Tuesday at West Lake to guarantee a spot for Labor Day. Start vacation after work today, so headed out to set up and enjoy the nice cool air tonight!

There are a few holidays I won't camp, this being one of them. Just toooooo many people. Now that we can get out during the week, we prefer not to deal with weekends. A little better now that school is back in. The boss calls me a curmudgeon! Maybe she is right.

I love avoiding the crowds as well. The good news is next weekend starts the best month or two of camping! Less people, more crisp Iowa air!
